Biography

Jaron "Boots" Ennis was born on June 26, 1997, in the boxing hotbed of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. He is not just an ordinary Philly man but a humble hustler, in other words, a man who bounces back from soul-rocking defeats, such as failing to make the Olympics in 2016, and then turning professional immediately after, waging a war in the welterweight division to determine who can be the greatest welterweight ever in the four-belt era. At only 26 years old, he appears to have ring experience comparable to greats like Crawford and Errol. Despite his young success, he remains humble.

When Ennis is not in the ring, he is often personally training other fighters as if they were himself. He wraps his own hands professionally, never being a diva despite his superstardom. He is a well-known gym rat, working on the little details from early in the morning to well past midnight. He is pushed by the Philly legacy within boxing, both in the modern and old school era, coming from a great tradition of Philly fighters like Bernard Hopkins, Danny Garcia, and the former super unified super bantamweight champion Stephan “Scooter” Fulton. With the massive support of the Philly community, Hall of Fame boxers vouching for him, and the dense talent of Philly fighters, Ennis is very likely to bring some of the most crowd-pleasing boxing cards East Coast American fans have ever desired. Being managed by Cameron Dunkin, a man known for managing fighters willing to take on super fights on mega-cards, such as Kelly Pavlik and Ennis's current target, undisputed champion Terence Crawford, it is very likely to happen.

Technical Overview

Ennis did not lose the traditional style of a Philly fighter when turning professional. He constantly trains footwork, standard combinations, hand speed, and ring experience that exceeds the number of fights for someone his age. For Ennis, his father has been a well-respected trainer in the boxing-crazy town of Philadelphia. With his father being a Philly great in terms of coaching, he is pushed to mental and physical realms that only a father can on top of his world-class coaching since childhood. This is very important for any opponents and heart-racing for any boxing fan because Ennis is one of the few fighters with truly unlimited potential.

Ennis's fighting tactics and physical attributes make him one of the most frightening fighters a man can face. He maintains an extremely amateur pace, constantly touching up his opponents and keeping them on edge with his frightening power, known for his one-punch knockout ability. Throughout the early rounds of the fight, he slowly dismantles his opponent's game, finding holes in their defenses and preferred angles, and setting up power combinations that make sense for Ennis to use against that specific opponent. This often results in short fights for Ennis, and his extremely high knockout ratio of 90% speaks for itself.

What makes Ennis even more frightening in the hunt is that, due to his extreme Philly-style footwork, he rarely gets out of place when waging war, even against the toughest of opponents. Not only has Ennis been masterfully drilled to perfection, but he also possesses a phenomenal Ring IQ. Ennis's natural gift for boxing is highlighted by his ability to control the center of the ring, engage in brawls unscathed, and time his shots, making him one of the most feared welterweights in the four-belt era.
