Xander Zayas will defend his WBO and WBA super welterweight titles against Jaron Ennis on June 27 at Barclays Center, live on DAZN PPV.
Zayas became the youngest unified champion in boxing after defeating Abass Baraou earlier this year and now returns to New York for his second title defense.
“Long before I became a World champion, I always sought to face the biggest challenges in my division I have never shied away from a fight and have always been willing to test my skills against anyone. Now, as the unified champion, I am ready to defend my world titles against one of the sport's biggest names. I have always believed in myself, and on June 27, I will continue to show the world what is possible when you dare to be great!”
Ennis moves up to 154 pounds after unifying the welterweight division and quickly making an impact at his new weight. “Time to step and collect these belts! Knocking them down one by one! #AndTheNew.”

The bout brings together two undefeated champions in a high-stakes unification, with both fighters aiming to establish themselves at the top of the division.
In the co-main, Emiliano Vargas, The Ring’s 2025 Prospect of the Year, returns in the chief support bout against Bryce Mills (22-1, 9 KOs). The 22-year-old continues his rise at junior welterweight after a February stoppage win over Agustin Quintana and will look to extend his momentum while defending his regional titles.
“I’m right in front of the door of title contention, and I’m knocking,” Vargas said. “I’m going to show June 27 that there are levels. Bryce Mills isn’t ready for me.”
Vargas says Mills is an aggressive, come-forward fighter, but he does not believe the style will be enough. He expects Mills to bring pressure, and he says his camp has been built around that exact look. “He only knows how to fight one way, and it’s coming forward,” Vargas said. “I’m going to pick this guy apart.”
The son of Fernando Vargas, Emiliano has made it clear he respects his father’s legacy without trying to copy it. He says his father gives him freedom to shape his own career, and that carrying the family name does not win fights for him.
“I would never try to be my father,” Vargas said. “I’m in my own lane.”
Vargas is already highly ranked and has bigger fights in mind, including Ryan Garcia and Shakur Stevenson, but he insists Mills is the only focus for now. “Nobody’s going to hand you a world title,” Vargas said. “You’ve got to get in there and fight.”
