WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson will defend his title for the first time against Artem Harutyunyan at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The event, promoted by Top Rank, will be broadcast live on ESPN.

Alongside the main event, the co-main event features O’Shaquie Foster defending his WBC super featherweight title against Robson Conceição, and on the undercard, Keyshawn Davis is facing off against Miguel Madueño in a lightweight bout.

This fight marks an important moment for Stevenson, rumored previously to be facing Harutyunyan and now confirmed. Fans had hoped for Stevenson to rematch Edwin De Los Santos to clarify a controversial win last November, but instead, Stevenson will face Harutyunyan, who is coming off a loss to Frank Martin. This decision has raised some eyebrows as it is unusual for a fighter coming off a loss to receive a title shot.

The event is significant for Stevenson, as it is potentially his last fight under his current contract with Top Rank. The outcome could determine his promotional future, either leading to a renewal with Top Rank or a move to another promoter.

The co-main event of the evening sees O’Shaquie Foster (22-2, 12 KOs) defending his WBC junior lightweight world title against Brazilian powerhouse Robson Conceição (18-2-1, 9 KOs). O’Shaquie Foster has an impressive track record with over 100 amateur fights and a spot as an alternate on the 2012 U.S. Olympic team. Turning professional later that year, he faced some early setbacks, including a split decision loss to Rolando Chinea in 2016. Recovering under the guidance of renowned trainer Bobby Benton, Foster has since maintained an undefeated streak, capturing the WBC world title in February and successfully defending it, most recently with a dramatic win against Eduardo “Rocky” Hernandez. His ongoing success led to a long-term promotional agreement with Top Rank.

Robson Conceição, Brazil's first Olympic boxing gold medalist, turned professional in 2016. His record is notable, with defeats only to unbeaten world champions. After a controversial fight with Shakur Stevenson and a majority draw against Emanuel Navarrete, he's coming off a decisive win against Jose Guardado. He's eager for the upcoming title fight and is determined not to let this chance slip away, promising to bring his utmost effort to the ring.

Since signing with Top Rank, Davis has compiled a series of victories, overcoming a hiccup with a no-contest ruling due to a marijuana test. His next challenge is Miguel Madueño (31-2, 28 KOs), a seasoned fighter with a robust record, setting the stage for what promises to be an electric match.

Lightweight prospect Abdullah Mason (13-0, 11 KOs) will face Luis Lebron (20-5-1, 13 KOs) in an eight-rounder.
