Shakur Stevenson believes Keyshawn Davis and Richardson Hitchins will eventually become the two leading fighters in the welterweight division.
Stevenson acknowledged that his prediction is based on potential rather than proven achievements, but said time will validate his view.
“Key and Af are the best fighters at 147 if I’m being honest,” Stevenson wrote. “Come back to this post in three to four years.”
Davis has yet to compete at welterweight but is currently linked to a WBO title fight against Devin Haney. Hitchins recently made his 147lb debut with a victory over Ricardo Salas.
Stevenson also predicted that the two friends will eventually face each other, despite rising through boxing alongside him.
The current welterweight division remains open for a new dominant figure, but both Davis and Hitchins will first need to prove themselves against established contenders before Stevenson’s bold prediction can be fully justified.
