Tyson Fury’s return to the ring has been officially confirmed, with the former two-time heavyweight world champion set to face Arslanbek Makhmudov on April 11 in the UK.
The announcement comes just over a year after Fury declared his retirement, following a second defeat to Oleksandr Usyk, before reversing that decision six months later.
After weeks of speculation, Makhmudov has been confirmed as Fury’s comeback opponent, with the heavyweight clash scheduled to stream live on Netflix at no extra cost. The event will mark Netflix’s first-ever live boxing broadcast from the United Kingdom, with further details on the venue and undercard expected to be announced soon.
Fury, now 37, reacted enthusiastically to the confirmation, stating that his heart “has always been and always will be in boxing.” Makhmudov also welcomed the opportunity, describing the bout as a “War” and promising to be fully prepared to leave with a victory. Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh praised Fury’s decision to return, calling the matchup an exciting heavyweight clash.
Netflix executives echoed that excitement, highlighting Fury’s appeal and resilience, while Fury himself shared the official fight poster on social media, describing the event as “astronomical.” The Briton spent much of last year away from the ring filming the second season of At Home With The Furys, with Netflix also producing a feature-length documentary on his life.
Fury has been training in Thailand since the start of the year and is using the April bout to gain rounds ahead of a major summer fight, with his manager, Spencer Brown, revealing that Fury is targeting up to three fights in 2026.
