Eddie Hearn has accused TKO of financially incentivizing journalists to amplify Tyson Fury’s version of the ongoing Anthony Joshua contract dispute.
Hearn made the allegation after revealing that BoxingScene reporter Lance Pugmire had contacted him about an email concerning Matchroom’s negotiations with Saudi event company Sela.
“I was told by a number of people that they’re financially incentivizing people to repost Tyson Fury’s story of him trying to spin the narrative,” Hearn said.
Hearn also insisted that the leaked email had been misrepresented. According to him, it concerned separate outstanding business between Matchroom and Sela rather than the addendum outlining Matchroom’s conditions for moving Joshua vs. Fury from the UK to the United States.
At least two media outlets reportedly received the disputed information, but Hearn did not identify anyone who had accepted money or provide evidence supporting his allegation.
