Moses Itauma will face Filip Hrgovic on August 29 at The O2 in London, giving the unbeaten heavyweight the toughest test of his young career.
Itauma is coming off a fifth-round knockout win over Jermaine Franklin Jr. in March, where he dropped Franklin in the third before finishing him with a left uppercut. Still only 21, Itauma has already been talked about as one of the heavyweight division’s future leaders.

Hrgovic brings the experience and physical danger that Itauma has not yet had to deal with at this level. The Croatian won Olympic bronze in 2016 and has lost only once as a professional, when he was beaten by Daniel Dubois in 2024.
Hrgovic returned with a dominant win over Dave Allen in May, but Itauma represents a different kind of challenge: younger, faster and still unbeaten. For Itauma, the fight is exactly the step he asked for after beating Franklin.
Promoter Frank Warren called it the “litmus test” Itauma wanted. “Filip believes it will be too much too soon for the young star,” Warren said. “At The O2 on August 29th we will find out.”
