Murat Gassiev’s team has played down the possibility of a fight with Derek Chisora and instead targeted major heavyweight bouts against Daniel Dubois, Agit Kabayel and Moses Itauma.
Chisora entered the ring and faced Gassiev following the WBA champion’s sixth-round stoppage of Peter Kadiru in Moscow, immediately prompting speculation over a possible title fight.
Gassiev’s promoter, Al Siesta, made clear that the priority is unification and the biggest available names in the division.
“Murat Gassiev is ready,” Siesta said. “He is injury free, he has settled into the division and he wants the biggest fights out there.”
Siesta named Dubois, Kabayel and Itauma as potential opponents, adding that Gassiev’s team believes he is the best heavyweight in the world and now wants the fights that will allow him to prove it.
