Undefeated WBA "regular" lightweight champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis (27-0, 25 KOs) is taking on undefeated WBA super featherweight champion and upset artist Hector Luis Garcia (16-0, 10 KOs) on Saturday, January 7 on PPV at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.

In 27 career professional fights, Davis is a perfect 27-0. He is also the reigning WBA (regular) lightweight champion, as he won the vacant title in a fight with Yuriorkis Gamboa in 2019.

In 2022 Davis engaged in just one fight, against Rolando Romero, which he easily won by sixth-round technical knockout in May to retain his title.

“I am so excited that this fight will finally take place. I wanted this more than anything. I work hard, I am at the peak of my career and I know that I will become the greatest boxer in the world. My legacy begins today,” Garcia wrote.

While all eyes are on the undefeated Davis and Ryan Garcia facing each other in April 2023, Hector Garcia could provide Davis with more of a challenge than many of his past opponents.

31-year-old Hector Luis Garcia owns the WBA belt in weight below 130 lbs, but at the same time, he is taller than Davis and some welterweights. In the last fight, he defeated Roger Gutierrez. Garcia also represented his country at the 2016 Olympic Games.
