Conor Benn believes Vasiliy Lomachenko would defeat Gervonta Davis if the long-discussed lightweight fight happened now.
Lomachenko announced his retirement in 2025 after rebuilding from defeats to Teofimo Lopez and Devin Haney with a knockout victory over George Kambosos in May 2024. The 38-year-old has since confirmed plans to return, reopening discussion about a possible meeting with Davis.
Asked who he would favour in the matchup, Benn gave a direct answer: “Currently, right now, Lomachenko.”
Benn’s prediction comes after Davis struggled to a draw with Lamont Roach in March 2025 and remained winless since June 2024. Despite interest in the Davis fight, Lomachenko is expected to return at super featherweight and could instead target unified WBA and WBO champion Emanuel Navarrete.
