William Zepeda will face Giovanni Cabrera at Toyota Arena in Ontario, California, headlining a DAZN-streamed card promoted by Golden Boy Promotions.
This fight offers Zepeda a chance to compare his performance against Cabrera to that of Isaac "Pitbull" Cruz, who faced Cabrera in July 2023. Cabrera went the distance with Cruz, who claimed a split-decision victory. Cruz subsequently dominated Rolando Romero on March 30, securing the WBA lightweight title.

Zepeda had initially set his sights on unbeaten WBC titleholder Shakur Stevenson after his dominant fourth-round win over Maxi Hughes on March 16. However, Stevenson will instead fight Artem Harutyunyan on July 6, headlining an ESPN card in Newark, New Jersey.
Defeating Cabrera will be crucial for Zepeda to boost his standing in a division teeming with elite names, including Gervonta "Tank" Davis, Vasiliy Lomachenko, and Emanuel Navarrete.
In the co-main event, Ricardo Sandoval (24-2, 17 KOs) will take on former world champion Angel Acosta (24-4, 22 KOs) in a highly anticipated flyweight bout, Sandoval seeks his fifth consecutive victory following his eight-round knockout of Carlos Buitrago in March. Meanwhile, Puerto Rican fighter Acosta, a former WBO light flyweight champion, aims to secure his second straight win after defeating Buitrago by unanimous decision last August.

The main card will also feature a ten-round super bantamweight clash between Manuel Flores (17-1, 13 KOs) and Nohel Arambulet (23-6-2, 13 KOs). Flores, hailing from Rancho Mirage, California, has notched a pair of second-round knockout victories over Alberto Guevara and Jerson Ortiz. Arambulet, based in Las Vegas but originally from Venezuela, is coming off a unanimous decision win against Angel Fernandez in February 2023.
In the telecast opener, Joel Iriarte (2-0, 2 KOs) and Yainel Alvarez Telemaco (3-4-2, 1 KO) will face off in a six-round welterweight bout. Iriarte of Woodland Hills, California, has won both of his professional fights this year by knockout. His opponent, Alvarez from Cuba, has suffered three consecutive losses, most recently dropping a majority decision to John Rincon in April.
