Rolando “Rolly” Romero will defend his WBA welterweight title against Teofimo Lopez Jr. on August 22 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The all-American clash will be available live on DAZN Pay-Per-View, DAZN Ultimate and on Prime. Romero enters as the WBA welterweight titleholder after defeating Ryan Garcia last May in Times Square, and this will be the first defense of his belt.

Lopez moves up to 147lbs after losing his WBO light welterweight title to Shakur Stevenson in January. A win would make him a world champion in a third weight class and put him back into the pound-for-pound conversation after a damaging defeat in New York.

For Romero, the fight is a chance to prove his win over Garcia was not a one-off. A successful defense could push him toward bigger fights in a crowded welterweight scene, including possible clashes with Devin Haney, a Garcia rematch or even Stevenson if he moves up.

Yoenli Hernandez will face Francisco Veron in a 10-round middleweight co-main event. Hernandez enters after stopping experienced contender Terrell Gausha in the fourth round and is ranked inside the top two by three major sanctioning bodies. Veron, meanwhile, has won three consecutive fights and sees the matchup as an opportunity to establish himself against one of the division’s fastest-rising contenders.

The 29-year-old Hernandez will have a significant size advantage, standing 6-foot-2 compared with Veron at 5-foot-10.
Interim WBA super bantamweight champion Victor Santillan will defend his title against Gary Antonio Russell over 12 rounds. Santillan claimed the belt by stopping Noel Reyes Cepeda in the third round in February, while Russell has rebuilt with two straight victories. Their fight could move the winner closer to a major opportunity in a division currently ruled by undisputed champion Naoya Inoue.
Unbeaten Colombian Carlos Utria will make his United States debut against Israel Mercado in a 10-round super lightweight bout. Utria brings an impressive knockout record but is coming off a decision victory over Mujibillo Tursunov. Mercado has won two in a row and will attempt to disrupt the Colombian prospect’s introduction to the American audience.
