Teofimo Lopez picks Ryan Garcia to beat Conor Benn

Teofimo Lopez believes Conor Benn has a real chance of upsetting Ryan Garcia but is ultimately picking Garcia to retain his WBC welterweight title.

“I think that Conor Benn has a great chance of winning and pulling an upset,” Lopez said. “He wants it more. He may not have the skills, but anything is possible.” Lopez also believes Benn’s experience in tougher, more physical fights could help him against Garcia.

However, Benn’s announcement that this will be his final fight at 147 pounds changed Lopez’s prediction. “So, I got to go with Ryan,” he said.

Lopez added that he would prefer Garcia to win because a Benn victory followed by a move out of the division could complicate his own hopes of fighting for the WBC title.
