Navarrete is set to defend his WBO world junior lightweight title against Robson Conceicao as part of the Stevenson vs. De Los Santos card in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arens and will be broadcast live on several ESPN platforms. This event will mark the beginning of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, which is slated to run from November 16-18.
Both Navarrete and Conceicao are promoted by Top Rank and hold top 10 rankings by The Ring in the 130-pound category, with Navarrete and Conceicao being ranked No. 1 and 7, respectively. Conceicao was initially lined up to face the undefeated Humberto Galindo in Corpus Christi, Texas. However, he was withdrawn from that bout due to the finalized agreement to fight Navarrete.
Navarrete, hailing from San Juan Zitlaltepec, Mexico, last stepped into the ring on August 12 in Glendale, Arizona, where he secured a unanimous decision victory over Oscar Valdez, a former world titleholder. Earlier in February, Navarrete clinched the vacant WBO world title in Glendale by defeating Liam Wilson. The 28-year-old Mexican boxer has previously held world titles in the 122 and 126-pound categories and has remained unbeaten since his sixth professional bout in 2012.

On the other hand, Conceicao, from Salvador, Brazil, saw his last fight against Nicolas Polanco on June 10 end in a no-contest due to an accidental head clash. In September of the previous year, Conceicao faced a unanimous decision loss to Shakur Stevenson. Despite this setback, Conceicao had the opportunity to claim the title belts after Stevenson was stripped of his WBC and WBO world junior lightweight titles for not meeting the weight requirements. The 34-year-old Brazilian boxer, a 2016 Olympic gold medalist, has been with Top Rank since turning professional in 2016. He also suffered a defeat against Valdez in September 2021.
