Mikaela Mayer will chase history on October 30 at Casino de Montréal when she challenges WBA junior middleweight champion Mary Spencer, aiming to become a three-weight world champion. Eye of the Tiger confirmed the matchup, which headlines a card featuring Wilkens Mathieu vs. Shakeel Phinn at super middleweight, alongside Arthur Biyarslanov, Mehmet Unal, and Christopher Guerrero in supporting bouts.
Mayer (21-2, 5 KOs), 35, has only lost to Alycia Baumgardner and Natasha Jonas - both by close decisions - and rebounded strongly with back-to-back wins over Sandy Ryan. After missing out on an undisputed welterweight clash with Lauren Price, Mayer chose instead to rise to 154 lbs. “Beating Mary Spencer will make me a three-division world champion,” she said. “I may be the smaller fighter, but I’ll dethrone Mary and then return to 147 to challenge Price.”
