The Montreal Casino was buzzing on Thursday night as Mikaela Mayer stepped into the ring to challenge hometown favorite Mary Spencer in a battle for three world titles at super welterweight.

Mayer, who entered the bout as the reigning WBO welterweight champion, faced Mary Spencer for the WBA, WBC, and WBO titles. Despite being the smaller fighter on paper, Mayer imposed her will early, controlling the action behind a stiff jab and powerful right hands. Spencer, forced onto the back foot for most of the fight, tried to find openings with her counters but couldn’t match Mayer’s tempo or ring generalship. By the later rounds, Mayer’s hooks and body work had Spencer fading, and the judges awarded the American a unanimous decision victory with scores of 100-90 and 98-92 twice - making her a three-weight world champion.

On the undercard, Wilkens Mathieu dominated Shakeel Phinn to claim the vacant NABF and WBC Continental Americas super middleweight titles by scores of 99-90 and 98-91 twice. Arthur Biyarslanov continued his unbeaten run with a strong showing over Sergey Lipinets, winning by unanimous decision to retain his NABF junior welterweight title.
