Lopez has had a remarkable career, capturing the IBF lightweight world title in December 2019 and then defeating Vasiliy Lomachenko to win the WBA, WBO, and WBC Franchise titles. After a surprising loss to George Kambosos Jr., Lopez moved up to junior welterweight, securing victories over Pedro Campa and Sandor Martin, and most recently upsetting Josh Taylor for the WBO and Ring Magazine titles.

How Teofimo Lopez Uses His Speed and Unorthodox Style: Watch

Jamaine Ortiz, with seven years of professional experience, holds the NABF lightweight title. His impressive record includes victories over Nahir Albright, Jamel “Semper Fi” Herring, and a notable performance against Lomachenko. Despite a loss to Lomachenko, Ortiz demonstrated his skill and resilience with a decisive win over Antonio Moran.

Bob Arum, the chairman of Top Rank, expressed his excitement for the doubleheader, praising the abilities of both Lopez and Ortiz. “Teofimo Lopez is among the best fighters in the world and always wants to fight the best available opponent. Jamaine Ortiz is a supreme talent who fits the bill,” Arum stated.

In an eagerly anticipated 10-round lightweight co-main event, U.S. Olympic silver medalist Keyshawn Davis (9-0, 6 KOs) is set to face the seasoned former two-division world champion Jose “Sniper” Pedraza (29-5-1, 14 KOs).

Keyshawn Davis from Norfolk, Virginia, has rapidly evolved from a promising prospect to a serious contender in the lightweight division. After a successful start to his professional career and a silver medal win at the Tokyo Olympics, Davis signed with Top Rank in November 2021. Since then, he has accumulated six victories, making 2023 a particularly active year for him. Notable wins include a ninth-round TKO against Anthony Yigit and a 10-round decision over Francesco Patera. His victory over Nahir Albright, though later ruled a no-contest due to a positive marijuana test, has positioned him closer to a world title shot.

Jose Pedraza, hailing from Cidra, Puerto Rico, is a seasoned fighter with a commendable track record. He secured the IBF junior lightweight world title in June 2015 and successfully defended it against challengers like Edner Cherry and Stephen Smith. He also claimed the WBO lightweight world title in 2018, only to lose it later in a unification bout against Vasiliy Lomachenko. After moving up to 140 pounds, Pedraza has faced formidable opponents like Jose Zepeda and Jose Ramirez, showcasing his skill and resilience. He now returns to the lightweight division, eyeing another chance at world title glory.

The undercard features a range of upcoming talents. Emiliano Fernando Vargas (8-0, 7 KOs), the son of former junior middleweight world champion Fernando Vargas, will compete in a six-round lightweight bout. Abdullah Mason (11-0, 9 KOs), another rising lightweight, will face Benjamin Gurment (8-0-3, 5 KOs) in his first eight-rounder. Middleweight Javier “Milwaukee Made” Martinez (9-0-1, 3 KOs) and former Team USA amateur standout Charlie Sheehy (8-0, 5 KOs) are also scheduled to fight, along with unbeaten lightweight Alan “Kid Kansas” Garcia (10-0, 8 KOs) and junior welterweight Art Barrera Jr. (2-0, 2 KOs).
