Brandon "The Heartbreaker" Figueroa (22-1-1, 17 KOs) faces Mark "Magnifico" Magsayo (24-1, 16 KOs) for the vacant Interim WBC Featherweight Title, live on Showtime as part of a Premier Boxing Champions event.
On his route to a sixth-round TKO on Showtime in July 2021, the 26-year-old Figueroa swarmed and dominated Carlos Castro in his 126-pound debut. He had not fought since 2021's Fight of the Year against Stephen Fulton Jr., which some analysts believed had a contentious outcome due to Figueroa's defeat by majority decision. Figueroa, a native of Weslaco, Texas, beat previous division champion Luis Nery for the first time in their title match on Showtime prior to the Fulton bout thanks to his unrelenting pressure and young zeal. By defeating Nery to win the WBC 122-pound world title, Figueroa joined his brother Omar Figueroa Jr., who had previously won the WBC lightweight world title.

Magsayo of the Philippines beat Gary Russell Jr., who had been boxing's longest-reigning male world champion at the time, to win the 126-pound championship on Showtime in January 2022, becoming the country's most recent champion. At this fight, Magsayo will try to go closer to winning that championship again after losing it by a razor-thin split decision to Rey Vargas in July after knocking Vargas out in round nine. The 27-year-old won his maiden shot at the title in August 2021 by stopping previous champion Julio Ceja in the 10th round of a contest he was down on the scorecards.
In the 10-round middleweight co-main event, former unified world champion "Swift" Jarrett Hurd (24-2, 16 KOs) faces Armando Resendiz (13-1, 9 KOs).
