The Theater at Madison Square Garden will come alive as WBO lightweight champion Denys Berinchyk defends his belt against the surging Keyshawn Davis. Berinchyk, a decorated Ukrainian amateur who trained alongside Vasiliy Lomachenko and Oleksandr Usyk, captured his world title in shocking fashion last May by outpointing Emanuel Navarrete for the vacant strap. Now, with an undefeated professional record, he aims to keep the belt against a hungry American challenger in Davis.
Keyshawn Davis has wasted no time skyrocketing to the WBO’s top ranking. A 2020 Olympic silver medalist, Davis showcased his devastating skills by stopping veteran contenders like Jose Pedraza and Gustavo Lemos. Despite a minor setback in October 2023 when one of his wins was changed to a no-contest, the 24-year-old has emerged stronger and more focused. This headliner in New York represents his biggest test yet - an opportunity to claim his first world title and assert himself among the lightweight elite.

Berinchyk is keen to prove he's more than a one-fight wonder. Since turning pro, he's shown he can adapt to various styles, whether facing European brawlers or slick boxers. Fans praise the 35-year-old for his combination of pressure and ring IQ, a blend that has unsettled many opponents. Yet, Davis’s lightning-quick hands and reflexes could challenge Berinchyk’s usual tactic of walking foes down.
In the co-main event, rising Puerto Rican star Xander Zayas faces Germany's Slawa Spomer (20-0, 11 KOs) in a 10-round junior middleweight clash. Zayas has been nearly flawless, headlining two cards at The Theater in 2024. He dismantled former world champion Patrick Teixeira in June before shutting out Damian Sosa in September. At just 22, Zayas has captured the Puerto Rican boxing community’s attention, earning comparisons to icons of the island’s rich boxing heritage.

Spomer arrives with a track record of beating undefeated prospects. Known for his aggressive style, the German puncher upset France’s Milan Prat in 2023 and followed up with a first-round stoppage in Dubai. A victory over Zayas would propel Spomer from relative obscurity to contender status, so expect him to come out firing.
Meanwhile, in the televised opener, New Jersey’s Vito "White Magic" Mielnicki Jr. makes his middleweight debut against Ireland’s Connor “The Kid” Coyle (21-0, 9 KOs). Mielnicki has compiled 12 straight wins and is eager to showcase his power at 160. Coyle, a 34-year-old veteran with strong fundamentals, aims to crash Mielnicki’s party by keeping his own unbeaten record intact.
Beyond the marquee fights, the undercard promises a night of action from start to finish. Dominican welterweight contender Rohan Polanco battles Puerto Rico’s Jean Carlos Torres (22-1, 17 KOs) in a 10-round clash. Polanco, an Olympian in Tokyo, has scored knockout victories in four of his last five fights, while Torres seeks to revive his momentum after rebounding from a tough loss in 2021.
The lightweight division will see knockout artist Abdullah Mason step in for an eight-round bout with Manuel Jaimes (16-2-1, 11 KOs). Mason tore through five opponents in 2024 - none lasting more than four rounds - yet Jaimes stands ready to prove his resilience and complicate the Cleveland-born prospect’s path.

Also, heavyweight contender Jared "The Real Big Baby" Anderson launches his 2025 comeback, clashing in a 10-rounder with Marios Kollias (12-3-1, 10 KOs). After suffering his first pro loss last August, the Toledo native is itching to show he remains a major force in the heavyweight ranks.
Promoter Bob Arum is confident that Anderson will bounce back from the Martin Bakole setback. "I still believe Jared is one of the most formidable heavyweights out there," Arum said. "He’s hungry for redemption, and this show promises plenty for the fans, with Juanmita Lopez debuting and Keon Davis also showcasing his potential."
