Devin Haney must decide whether to defend his WBO welterweight title against mandatory challenger Keyshawn Davis after the sanctioning body ordered purse bids for July 27.
Haney won the belt in November with a dominant unanimous decision over previously unbeaten Brian Norman Jr., scoring a knockdown in his first appearance at the 147lb limit. Since then, possible fights with Shakur Stevenson and Gervonta Davis have been discussed, but Davis remains his official mandatory challenger.
The WBO confirmed that purse bid proceedings will take place on Monday, July 27, at 11 a.m. AST after the two camps failed to reach an agreement during negotiations.
Davis previously held the WBO lightweight title before losing it on the scales and moving up in weight. He has since defeated Jamaine Ortiz and Nahir Albright.
