Former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder will return to the ring on April 4 when he faces Derek Chisora at The O2 Arena in London. The bout will headline the first Misfits Pro event, streaming live on DAZN.
Wilder, now 40, enters the fight looking to build on momentum after stopping Tyrrell Herndon in June. That win followed a difficult stretch from 2020 to 2024, during which Wilder went 1-4 after opening his career with a 42-0-1 record. During that period, he suffered knockout losses to Tyson Fury in consecutive fights, defeats to Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang, and scored a lone knockout win over Robert Helenius.
The fight marks Wilder’s first appearance in the United Kingdom in 12 years. His last bout on British soil came in 2013, when he faced Audley Harrison. Once known as “The Bronze Bomber,” Wilder now headlines Misfits Boxing’s first professional boxing event after rumors had linked him to a potential fight with Oleksandr Usyk.
Chisora, 42, arrives on a three-fight winning streak, having defeated Gerald Washington, Joe Joyce and Otto Wallin since his knockout loss to then-WBC champion Fury in 2022. A long-time heavyweight contender, Chisora has shared the ring with many of the era’s top names, including Oleksandr Usyk, Joseph Parker, Dillian Whyte and Vitali Klitschko.
