David Haye has named Derek Chisora as the toughest and most durable opponent of his professional career.
Haye was known for his speed and knockout power at both cruiserweight and heavyweight, winning world titles in two divisions and stopping champions such as Jean Marc Mormeck.
He faced Chisora in 2012 following their infamous confrontation in Germany. Haye controlled the fight and scored two knockdowns before securing a fifth-round stoppage.
Despite the defeat, Chisora impressed Haye by absorbing a series of powerful punches and remaining conscious when the contest was stopped.
“Derek Chisora took some big shots,” Haye said. “I was hitting him with shots that fans probably didn’t even realise, but they were big, big shots.”
“He finished on his feet as well. I don’t know anyone else that wouldn’t be sleeping for 10 minutes.”
