The highly anticipated clash between Sandy Ryan and Mikaela Mayer for the WBO welterweight world title will headline the “Queens of Gotham” fight night at The Theater at Madison Square Garden on September 27. This event will be broadcast live on ESPN, ESPN Deportes, and ESPN+.
In the co-main event, junior middleweight rising star Xander Zayas (19-0, 12 KOs) will face Mexican contender Damian Sosa (25-2, 12 KOs), while Brooklyn-born featherweight Bruce “Shu Shu” Carrington (12-0, 8 KOs) is set to take on the upset-minded Sulaiman Segawa (17-4-1, 6 KOs). Mayer, a 2016 U.S. Olympian, returns to the U.S. after a series of bouts in England, where she faced tough competition and moved up in weight to prepare for this welterweight world title opportunity.
