The featherweight clash between Elijah Pierce and Lorenzo Parra is set to headline Manny Pacquiao Promotions’ second U.S. show on February 28 at the Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York, streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Originally slated for November 29 in California, the fight was scrapped on weigh-in day after Pierce fell ill. That event still went ahead, but it proved frustrating for the promotion when Emmanuel Pacquiao Jr., also known as Jimuel Pacquiao, was held to a draw in his professional debut.
Pierce (21-2, 17 KOs), a 29-year-old from Georgia, will be making his second appearance at featherweight after campaigning largely at or near 122 lbs. Since moving up, he scored a ninth-round knockout of Michael Dasmarinas last July. His only losses came earlier in his career, both at 126 lbs, against seasoned opposition.
Parra (23-1-1, 17 KOs), 31, enters from Venezuela with just one defeat on his record, a 2017 decision loss. He had won nine straight before fighting to a draw with Omar Trinidad last August, halting his momentum but not dimming his reputation as a dangerous puncher.
The co-feature will see junior welterweight Bryce Mills (20-1, 7 KOs) take on Tobias Green (12-3-1, 4 KOs) over 10 rounds.
Also scheduled to appear on the card are Pacquiao Jr. (0-0-1) and unbeaten prospect Curmel Moton (8-0, 6 KOs).
