The streaming platform DAZN is adding a new prospect-focused series to its boxing schedule. The series, hosted by Overtime Boxing (OTX), an Atlanta-based sports media company, will feature more than 30 newly signed fighters. The matches will take place every Friday in August, with all bouts airing live from the OTE (Overtime Elite) Arena in Atlanta.
The series kicks off on August 4, with Elijah Pierce (17-2, 14 KOs) battling Mike Plania (28-2, 15 KOs), a Filipino contender, in a junior featherweight bout. Following that, Sanny Duversonne will go head-to-head against an opponent yet to be announced on August 11. Narciso Carmona (10-0-1, 6 KOs) from Spain is set to top the bill on the August 18 show, his opponent also yet to be determined. To conclude the series on August 25, former amateur standout Lorenzo 'Truck' Simpson (13-0, 7 KOs), a southpaw from Baltimore, is expected to face Vlad Hernandez.
OTX, established in 2016, aims to attract Generation Z sports fans. Previous successful ventures have been in basketball with Overtime Elite and the OT7 seven-on-seven football league.
Among other notable signings by OTX are rising undefeated prospects Haven Brady Jr. (9-0, 4 KOs) from Albany, Gabriel Muratalla (9-0, 5 KOs) from California, Giovanni Marquez (5-0, 3 KOs) from Houston, and Andreas Katzourakis (10-0, 8 KOs) from Los Angeles.
