Matchroom heads to Orlando’s Caribe Royale on November 1 (DAZN) with a heavyweight main event pitting 2016 Olympian Lenier Pero (12-0, 8 KOs) against former cruiserweight title challenger Jordan Thompson (15-1, 12 KOs) in a 10-round clash.
Ranked WBA No. 3, Cuba’s Pero enters off an April unanimous decision over Detrailous Webster, his first outing since signing a co-promotional deal with Matchroom and BoxLab. “Every fight is a step toward greatness,” Pero said. “I respect Jordan Thompson, but this is my time.”

For Thompson, it’s a clean slate at a new weight. The Brit hasn’t boxed since a September 2023 defeat to IBF and Ring cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia and now debuts at heavyweight. “You are going to see my best as a heavyweight,” Thompson said. “I’ll be ready for whatever the night and occasion bring.”
The co-feature is a hometown showcase for Omari Jones (3-0, 3 KOs), the 2024 U.S. Olympic bronze medalist, against yet undecided opponent. Jones turned pro in March and has stopped all three foes inside a combined six rounds.
“The heavyweight division is evolving rapidly,” said Eddie Hearn. “Lenier is well placed to stake his claim for the big fights—but Jordan can put paid to those plans as he makes his bow in the division.”
