Jarrell Miller will face undefeated Cuban contender Lenier Pero in a heavyweight bout on April 25 in Las Vegas. The fight will headline a Matchroom-promoted event at the Fontainebleau.
Miller will be returning to the ring for the first time since January, when he defeated Kingsley Ibeh by points over ten rounds. The Brooklyn native remains a recognizable figure in the heavyweight division despite fighting just six times over the past six years following his 2019 positive tests for banned substances that cost him a scheduled title shot against Anthony Joshua.

The 37-year-old’s relationship with Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn had previously been strained after the failed Joshua bout, with Hearn stating at the time he would not work with Miller again. However, recent comments from the promoter suggested a change in stance, leading to Miller’s return to a Matchroom main event.
Pero enters the contest with an unbeaten record of 13-0 (8 KOs) and holds the No. 2 ranking with the WBA. The 33-year-old Cuban, a decorated amateur, has yet to compete in a bout scheduled beyond ten rounds as a professional.
Among Pero’s notable victories is an eight-round stoppage of previously unbeaten Viktor Vykhryst in 2023, along with a points win over Jordan Thompson last November.
