The postponed clash between WBC junior middleweight titleholder Sebastian Fundora and former unified welterweight champion Keith Thurman is officially back on, as it will take place on Saturday, March 28 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, with the event airing on pay-per-view via Amazon Prime Video.
The fight was originally scheduled for October 25, 2025, but was postponed roughly two weeks out after Fundora suffered a hand injury in training camp.
Fundora (23-1-1, 15 KOs), 28, captured the WBO and vacant WBC 154lb titles in March 2024 with a split decision win over Tim Tszyu. His reign has since been eventful, featuring a fourth-round stoppage of Chordale Booker in March 2025, the loss of his WBO belt after declining a mandatory defense against Xander Zayas, and a dominant seventh-round stoppage of Tszyu in their July rematch.

Watch
Thurman (31-1, 23 KOs), now 37, enters the fight following another long stretch of inactivity. After losing his WBA welterweight title to Manny Pacquiao in 2019, he fought just once in February 2022 before returning again in March 2025, when he moved up to junior middleweight and stopped Brock Jarvis in Australia. Despite the gaps, Thurman remains one of the most recognizable names Fundora has faced.
There is also a twist of fate attached to the matchup. Thurman was originally set to fight Tszyu in March 2024 but withdrew due to injury, opening the door for Fundora to step in and ultimately launch his title run. Now, two years later, the two finally meet with Fundora’s WBC belt on the line and Thurman seeking a late-career statement at 154lbs.
In the co-main event, Yoenis Tellez and Brian Mendoza will meet in a junior middleweight bout.
Tellez (11-1, 8 KOs) enters the fight looking to build momentum after rebounding from his loss to Abass Baraou for the interim WBA super welterweight title last August. He returned to winning form in December, stopping Kendo Castaneda in five rounds.
Mendoza, who previously fought for an interim title at 154 pounds, also returns to a major stage following a comeback victory last July when he scored a fourth-round stoppage of Jesus Antonio Rojas. Earlier in his career, Mendoza faced Serhii Bohachuk for the interim WBC title after a late reshuffle to a pay-per-view card in 2024.
The card will also include a middleweight contest between Yoenli Hernandez and Terrell Gausha, while heavyweight prospect Gurgen Hovhannisyan is facing Cesar Navarro on the PPV portion of the card. The bout between Elijah Garcia and Kevin Newman II has been moved to headline the free preliminary broadcast.
