Alycia Baumgardner will defend her WBA, WBO and IBF super-featherweight world titles against Bo Mi Re Shin on April 17 at the Infosys Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The championship fight will take place over 10 three-minute rounds.
The bout will headline an event promoted by Most Valuable Promotions and will see Baumgardner continue her reign at 130 pounds against a challenger who previously fought for the WBC lightweight title. South Korea’s Shin last challenged Caroline Dubois for the belt at the Royal Albert Hall.
Baumgardner, who added the WBO and IBF titles to her collection with victories over Edith Matthysse and Mikaela Mayer, became the undisputed champion in 2023 after defeating Elhem Mekhaled for the WBA belt. Reflecting on her return to New York, she described the city as a stage for some of boxing’s biggest nights and said her goal remains to dominate while continuing to build her legacy.
