Unified junior lightweight champion Alycia Baumgardner successfully defended her WBA, WBO and IBF titles with a clear unanimous decision victory over Bo Mi Re Shin in New York. Scores of 98-92, 98-92 and 99-91 reflected Baumgardner’s control across most of the contest, as she used her jab and timing to dictate the pace.
Baumgardner settled into the fight after a measured opening round, mixing body and head shots while landing sharp uppercuts that drew strong reactions from the crowd. Shin had moments of success, particularly in the sixth and seventh rounds, but Baumgardner regained control late and closed out the fight confidently.
After the win, Baumgardner turned her attention to a potential showdown with Katie Taylor, calling out the unified junior welterweight champion and stating she would even return to shorter rounds to make the fight happen.
The co-main event delivered a dramatic and concerning moment as Lani Daniels scored a ninth-round TKO over Shadasia Green to claim the IBF and WBO super middleweight titles. The fight was stopped 32 seconds into the round after Daniels unleashed a series of right hands, leaving Green unable to respond.
Green was initially on her feet but was later placed on a stretcher and taken to a local hospital. Officials confirmed she was awake and speaking afterward. Daniels was also transported to hospital as a precaution, capping a night that saw both dominant championship boxing and a shocking upset unfold.
