Raul Curiel

Raúl “El Cugar” Curiel García is a Mexican welterweight contender from Tampico, Tamaulipas, and a former Olympian who represented Mexico at the 2016 Rio Games. Known for his pressure-heavy style, high output, and growing power, Curiel has spent the past decade fighting out of the United States while steadily climbing the ranks.

Raúl turned professional in February 2017 under manager Frank Espinoza and Golden Boy Promotions, building momentum through consistent performances and an aggressive approach. His rise reached a new level in December 2024, when he went twelve hard rounds with Alexis “Lex” Rocha in a high-volume DAZN main event, battling to a majority draw in a fight where both men combined for more than 1,500 punches.
