The boxing scene is set for an electrifying match-up as undefeated Cuban sensation Yoenis Tellez takes on the unbeaten American, Joseph Jackson, in a super welterweight showdown scheduled for 10 rounds. This headliner bout will grace the Most Valuable Prospects 6 event at the Caribe Royale Orlando, Florida, on Friday, April 26.
Yoenis Tellez, hailing from Santiago de Cuba and now based in Stafford, Texas, enters the ring following a knockout victory in the 10th round against Livan Navarro last December, marking his fourth win in 2023. His opponent, Joseph Jackson from Greensboro, North Carolina, last showcased his power by knocking out Dedrick Bell in the fifth round in November.
Adding to the event's intrigue is an eight-round lightweight rematch between Alexander Rios Vega (8-1-0, 3 KOs) of Bayamon, Puerto Rico, and Benigno Aguilar (11-0-1, 4 KOs) of Jacksonville, Florida. Their first encounter at MVP 5 ended in a split decision victory for Aguilar.
Also featured on the MVP 6 card is a six-round featherweight battle between Jan Paul Rivera-Pizarro (8-0, 5 KOs) of Ponce, Puerto Rico, and David Perez (9-0, 2 KOs) of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Both fighters are coming off unanimous decision victories in their last bouts.
