Francisco “Chihuas” Rodriguez Jr. faces unbeaten Angelino “Huracan” Cordova on Saturday, May 30, at the Town and Country Hotel in San Diego, California. The 12-round flyweight bout brings together a former world champion from Mexico and an undefeated contender from Venezuela.
Rodriguez Jr. (39-6-1, 27 KOs) brings the deeper professional experience. The 32-year-old has been a pro for 15 years and became WBO minimumweight world champion in 2014 by defeating Merlito Sabillo. His last outing came against Galal Yafai in June 2025, but that bout was ruled a no contest.

Cordova (19-0-2, 12 KOs) enters unbeaten and looking for the biggest win of his career. The 30-year-old Venezuelan has been a professional for eight years and last fought Yankiel Rivera in August 2025, with that bout ending in a majority draw. Against Rodriguez Jr., he gets a chance to prove he belongs at the top level of the flyweight division.
