Fight Details

Skye Nicolson will defend her interim WBC 122-pound title against Mariah Turner on April 29 at The Melbourne Pavilion in Australia. The all-Australian clash is scheduled for 10 rounds and will be broadcast globally on DAZN outside Australia, while also marking Matchroom Boxing’s first event on Kayo Sports in the country.

Nicolson (15-1, 3 KOs) enters the fight riding a three-bout winning streak since losing her WBC featherweight title to Tiara Brown by split decision in March 2025. The 30-year-old southpaw most recently defeated Yuliahn Luna by unanimous decision in December in Stockton, California to capture the interim WBC belt.

The bout continues Nicolson’s recent move down to the 122-pound division after spending most of her early career campaigning at featherweight. She said she expects a difficult challenge but intends to deliver a strong performance in front of her home fans in Melbourne.

Turner (12-1, 6 KOs), from South Auckland, New Zealand, comes into the contest on a seven-fight winning streak. In her most recent outing last November, she defeated previously unbeaten Stephanie Lee Cutting by unanimous decision.

The event will also feature Australian junior welterweight Jake Wyllie (18-2-1, 16 KOs) against Ibrahim Balla (17-3, 7 KOs) in the co-main event. Undefeated heavyweight Teremoana Teremoana (9-0, 9 KOs) is also scheduled to appear on the undercard.
