The Japanese Golden Era in boxing is set to shine once again on July 20 with a thrilling tripleheader event, headlined by three-weight world champion and current WBC bantamweight titlist Junto Nakatani. He will go up against his mandatory challenger, Vincent Astrolabio, at the iconic Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo.
Presented by Fighters Network, this event will also feature two other electrifying world title fights. Four-weight world champion Kosei Tanaka will defend his WBO junior bantamweight title against Jonathan Rodriguez, while former world title challengers Riku Kano and Anthony Olascuaga will clash for the vacant WBO flyweight title. Additionally, popular bantamweight Tenshin Nasukawa will continue his professional journey in a 10-round bout against another fighter named Jonathan Rodriguez.
Nakatani is a dominant force in the bantamweight division. He currently holds the No. 1 spot in The Ring's bantamweight rankings and is ranked No. 10 pound-for-pound. The 26-year-old Japanese star has built an impressive resume, including victories over future junior flyweight titleholder Masamichi Yabuki and former 108-pound titleholder Milan Melindo. Nakatani claimed the vacant WBO flyweight title against Giemel Magramo and has successfully defended it several times. His latest victory was a TKO win over Alexandro Santiago, earning him the WBC 118-pound title.

Astrolabio is ranked No. 7 by The Ring at bantamweight. The Filipino fighter's career has seen both significant victories and setbacks. His major breakthrough came with a unanimous decision win over Guillermo Rigondeaux and a knockout victory over Nikolai Potapov. Although he lost a close fight to Andrew Moloney for the vacant WBO title, he secured his shot at Nakatani by defeating Nawaphon Sor Rungvisai in a title eliminator.
