Boxing’s biggest rivalry is officially back. Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao will meet in a professional rematch on September 19 at the Sphere in Las Vegas, with the event streamed globally on Netflix.
The announcement comes just days after Mayweather confirmed plans to unretire following his upcoming exhibition with Mike Tyson and signed a multi-fight deal with CSI Sports/Fight Sports. Pacquiao, meanwhile, returned to professional boxing last July and fought WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios to a majority draw. He is also scheduled for an April 18 exhibition against Ruslan Provodnikov in Las Vegas.

Details regarding the weight class and number of rounds for the rematch have not yet been disclosed. The bout will be promoted by Manny Pacquiao Promotions and Mayweather Promotions in partnership with CSI Sports/Fight Sports.
Their first encounter on May 2, 2015, ended in a unanimous decision victory for Mayweather and shattered box office records, generating 4.6 million U.S. pay-per-view buys and more than $410 million in revenue, along with a $72.2 million gate. Despite criticism over the action inside the ring, the event remains the highest-grossing fight in boxing history.
Mayweather, who turns 49 this week, retired in 2017 with a perfect 50-0 record after stopping Conor McGregor. Pacquiao, now 47, has long maintained he was compromised by a shoulder injury in their first meeting and has openly pursued a rematch for years. With both men officially back in the professional ranks, Pacquiao (62-8-3, 39 KOs) will attempt to hand Mayweather the first loss of his career.
The fight will also mark the first boxing event held at the Sphere.
