Conlan vs. Gill

In Belfast, Northern Ireland, Jordan Gill upset Michael Conlan in a featherweight clash, leading to a contentious stoppage in the seventh round. The event featured Lewis Crocker's victory over Tyrone McKenna, Caoimhin Agyarko's split decision win against Troy Williamson, Sean McComb's dominant performance over Sam Maxwell, and Cameron Vuong's impressive stoppage of Michal Dufek.

Michael Conan is officially set to face Jordan Gill at the SSE Arena Belfast in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The scheduled 12-round featherweight clash will be broadcast live on DAZN.

Conlan previously stepped into the ring in May against Luis Alberto Lopez, vying for the IBF featherweight title but was halted in the fifth round. Prior to that setback, the Belfast native secured victories over Karim Guerfi and Miguel Marriaga. In March 2022, Conlan took on Leigh Wood for the WBA featherweight title but faced a 12th-round TKO loss. The 31-year-old Irish boxer is currently under the guidance of Cuban-American trainer, Pedro Diaz. “I’m thrilled to be back at the SSE Arena Belfast with Matchroom Boxing and my new coaching team,” expressed Conlan. “Jordan is skilled, but he’s an obstacle on my path. I’m excited for December 2 – it promises to be an electrifying night of boxing.”

Gill competed last time in October, where he suffered a loss to Kiko Martinez, subsequently relinquishing his European featherweight title. Earlier in 2022, the 29-year-old from Huntingdon, England, claimed the belt by knocking out Karim Guerfi in the ninth round. “This is an incredible match-up,” remarked Gill. “Mick is world-class, and I’m eager to showcase my abilities against him. We’re both striving for World Titles, and I’m thrilled to put on a show in Belfast.”

The undercard for the event is also outstanding. Caoimhin Agyarko (13-0, 7 KOs) of Belfast will square off against ex-British champ, Troy Williamson (20-1-1, 14 KOs) in a 10-round super welterweight bout. Additionally, Belfast’s own Tyrone McKenna (23-3-1, 6 KOs) will clash with the undefeated Lewis Crocker (17-0, 10 KOs) in a 10-round welterweight bout. Furthermore, Sean McComb (17-1, 5 KOs) will meet former British and Commonwealth champ Sam Maxwell (17-2, 11 KOs) in a super lightweight bout, also set for 10 rounds.
