William Scull Yero, born June 6, 1992, is a Cuban-born professional boxer who fights out of Berlin, Germany. Known by his nickname "El Indomable" ("The Indomitable"), Scull has risen through the ranks to become the IBF super-middleweight champion. His aggressive yet technical boxing style, coupled with his impressive undefeated record, has established him as one of the top fighters in the super-middleweight division.
Born and raised in Matanzas, Cuba, Scull was immersed in the country’s renowned boxing culture from an early age. His strong amateur background, shaped by Cuba’s prestigious boxing system, provided him with the foundation for his professional career. After moving to Argentina to begin his professional journey, he later relocated to Germany, where he established himself as a dominant force in the super-middleweight division.
Scull turned professional in 2016 and quickly built an undefeated record, winning his first 22 fights against a mix of regional and international opponents. His rise in the rankings led him to become the IBF’s mandatory challenger for the super-middleweight title in 2024, a belt then held by Canelo Álvarez. However, Álvarez opted to vacate the title rather than face Scull, setting up a showdown for the vacant championship against the highly ranked Vladimir Shishkin. On October 19, 2024, Scull claimed the IBF super-middleweight title with a unanimous decision victory over Shishkin in Falkensee, Germany, cementing his place among the elite fighters in his weight class.
