Luka Plantic

Luka Plantić (born October 29, 1996) is a Croatian professional boxer from Zagreb, Croatia. Nicknamed “The Thunder,” Plantić stands 6-foot and fights from a southpaw stance. He has competed primarily in the super middleweight division.

Plantić built an extensive amateur career before establishing himself as a professional. As a youth boxer, he won gold at the 2014 European Youth Championships, silver at the 2014 Youth World Championships and bronze at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics. He later became a multiple-time Croatian national champion and won the Balkan Championships in 2019.

Plantić qualified for the Tokyo Olympics through the European qualification tournament, where he defeated Gor Nersesyan and Emmet Brennan before narrowly losing to Benjamin Whittaker. He also won a bronze medal at the 2022 European Championships in the light heavyweight division.

He made his professional debut in March 2018 with a fifth-round knockout of Moris Markowitsch. After returning to the professional ranks in 2022, Plantić stopped experienced contender Ryno Liebenberg in the fourth round and later defeated former world-title challenger Khoren Gevor by unanimous decision to win the vacant WBC International Silver super middleweight title.

Plantić continued to progress with stoppage victories over Yusuf Kanguel, Diego Ramirez and Jack Cullen, the latter earning him the WBC International super middleweight title in April 2024. He went on to defend that belt against opponents including Catalin Paraschiveanu, Martin Ezequiel Bulacio, Bruno Damian Acosta and Shadiri Musa Bwogi.
