Lester Martinez will defend his position near the top of the super middleweight division when he faces unbeaten Luka Plantic on August 29 at the Galen Center in Los Angeles.
The ProBox TV card will also feature a key light heavyweight matchup, with unbeaten Puerto Rican contender Najee Lopez taking on Colombian southpaw Juan Carrillo in the chief support bout.
Martinez currently holds the WBC interim super middleweight title and could move closer to a major fight with another win. A victory over Plantic would strengthen his case to face the winner of the expected October clash between WBC champion Christian Mbilli and Canelo Alvarez.

The 30-year-old from Guatemala fought Mbilli to a dramatic 10-round draw last September before later winning the interim belt with a wide decision over Immanuwel Aleem in March.
Plantic brings an unbeaten professional record and a strong amateur background. The Croatian previously stopped a young Mbilli in one round back in 2013, competed at the 2020 Olympics and won bronze at the European championships.
In the co-feature, Lopez will risk his world rankings against Carrillo. Lopez is ranked highly across all four major sanctioning bodies and is coming off an eighth-round stoppage win over Manuel Gallegos.
Carrillo enters unbeaten and last fought when he knocked out Marlon Delgado in the fourth round. Ramon Cardenas is also scheduled to appear on the card after his strong performance against Naoya Inoue and his knockout win over Erik Robles Ayala.
