Biography
Kyosuke Takami (born April 5, 2002, in Tokyo, Japan) is a Japanese professional boxer who has quickly risen through the light-flyweight division. An aggressive puncher with sharp finishing ability, Takami has established himself as one of Japan’s most promising young champions.
Turning professional in July 2022, Takami made an immediate impact by stopping Thailand’s Wutthichai Montri in the first round. Over the next two years, he compiled an unbeaten record with victories over experienced domestic and regional fighters, including former champions Kenichi Horikawa and Lito Dante. His early career was defined by a string of explosive knockouts, with most of his wins coming inside the distance.
In April 2025, Takami claimed the Japanese light-flyweight title after a sixth-round stoppage of Toshiki Kawamitsu. Just three months later, he stepped onto the world stage, facing WBA champion Erick Rosa in Yokohama. In a breakout performance, Takami stopped Rosa in the 10th round to capture the WBA light-flyweight title, becoming a world champion in only his tenth professional fight.
