Joseph “Action” Jackson, born on October 18, 1988, in Greensboro, North Carolina, is a professional boxer competing in the super welterweight division. Standing at 5’10. Before turning to boxing, Jackson was a standout running back at Dudley High School in Greensboro. He received several football scholarship offers but chose to work at UPS to support his daughter. Seeking to stay in shape, he began boxing recreationally, which eventually led to a full-time professional career.

Jackson’s late entry into boxing meant he lacked a traditional amateur background. He trained diligently, learning on the go and gaining valuable experience by sparring with seasoned fighters like Tony Harrison during Harrison’s preparation for a bout against Jermell Charlo.
