Diego Torres Núñez (born 1997) is a Mexican professional boxer who competes in the lightweight division. Fighting under the alias “Azabache,” Torres Núñez is known for his explosive punching power, reflected in an exceptionally high knockout ratio. He is based in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico, and has emerged as one of the most dangerous punchers in his weight class.
Torres Núñez turned professional in August 2019 and immediately established himself as a force, racking up a series of early-round stoppages against seasoned opposition.
His rise was briefly slowed in November 2023 when he suffered his lone professional defeat, a stoppage loss to undefeated contender Raymond Muratalla in a bout that doubled as a step-up in competition. The setback, however, proved to be a turning point rather than a derailment, as Torres Núñez rebounded with decisive wins over durable opponents, showing improved patience and ring control.
