Biography

Bryce Mills is an American professional boxer competing in the super lightweight division. Born in Syracuse, New York, and fighting out of Liverpool, New York, Mills fights from an orthodox stance and stands 5 ft 8 in (173 cm) tall. Since making his professional debut in October 2020, he has compiled an impressive record of 22 wins and 1 loss, with 9 victories by knockout. Despite having a relatively limited amateur boxing background, Mills has developed into one of the most promising contenders in the American junior welterweight ranks.

Unlike many top prospects, Mills followed an unconventional path into professional boxing. He spent much of his youth competing in kickboxing and Muay Thai rather than building an extensive amateur boxing résumé. As a result, much of his development occurred after turning professional, learning and refining his skills under the spotlight of paid competition. His only professional defeat came in 2021, when he suffered a narrow split-decision loss to Ryan Pino in just his seventh bout. Rather than derail his career, the setback became a turning point that accelerated his growth as a fighter.

Over the following years, Mills steadily improved while building experience against increasingly capable opposition. He earned victories over fighters such as Larry Fryers, Jonathan de Pina, Damian Tymosz, and Gerffred Ngayot, displaying strong technical skills, ring intelligence, and an ability to consistently outbox opponents over longer distances. His willingness to face experienced veterans helped establish him as one of the more battle-tested prospects in the division.

Mills enjoyed a breakthrough run between 2024 and 2026. He recorded notable victories over Mike Ohan Jr., former prospect Alex Martin, and highly regarded contender Aaron Aponte, whom he spectacularly knocked out in the first round. He followed those performances with dominant wins over James Bernadin, Tobias Green, and Julio Rosa, capturing and successfully defending the WBC USA Silver super lightweight title. These victories elevated his standing in the world rankings and moved him into contention for larger opportunities.

His rise has been particularly impressive given the obstacles he faced early in his career. Mills has openly discussed how professional boxing initially cost him money and lacked the backing of a major promoter, forcing him to build his reputation through consistent performances rather than promotional hype. His perseverance has paid off, as he has become one of the leading contenders emerging from New York's boxing scene.
