The June 27 event headlined by Xander Zayas vs Jaron Ennis is starting to feel like a full night rather than just a main event, with Top Rank and Matchroom Boxing working together to bring us a great fight night at the Barclays Center.
The main event already carries real weight, with Zayas defending his WBA and WBO super welterweight titles against former unified welterweight champion Ennis. But the freshly announced supporting fights add depth - and opportunity.
Top Rank’s Emiliano Vargas meets Bryce Mills in a 10-round super lightweight bout. Vargas continues to build momentum as one of the more visible young fighters in the U.S., while Mills steps into his biggest test yet after rebuilding from an early career loss.
On the Matchroom side, Ben Whittaker returns quickly after his recent stoppage win, taking on Richard Rivera over 10 rounds at light heavyweight. It’s a classic activity vs experience matchup - Whittaker active and flashy, Rivera durable but coming off a long layoff.
Another evenly matched fight sees Jahi Tucker face Euri Cedeno in a 10-round middleweight bout for regional titles. Tucker has rebuilt well after a difficult stretch in 2023, while Cedeno arrives unbeaten and dangerous, making this one of the more competitive fights on the card.
