Wladimir Klitschko has again been linked to a possible comeback after the former heavyweight champion was pictured alongside promoter Alex Krassyuk with the caption “something big is coming.”
Klitschko, now 50, retired in 2017 after defeats to Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. He ended his career with a record of 64 wins, 53 by knockout, and five defeats, having made 18 successful title defenses during his second heavyweight reign.
A return would likely be built around one major target: George Foreman’s record as the oldest heavyweight champion in history. With Oleksandr Usyk vacating his world titles and Agit Kabayel being upgraded to full WBC champion, that path may now look more realistic.
Kabayel’s manager, Spencer Brown, said a Klitschko fight in Germany would be “historic” and suggested it could become a massive stadium event. “Fighting for a WBC world title, which he held for a long time? It would be a historical fight and it would be huge,” Brown said.
Kabayel is currently looking for his first voluntary defense, with Jarrell Miller mentioned as one possible challenger. But the WBC has previously granted title opportunities to former champions with legendary status, meaning Klitschko could become an option if he decides to pursue the comeback.
