Tyson Fury has announced another comeback with trademark bravado, insisting that he will reclaim the heavyweight throne before the year is out. Speaking in a social media video posted Saturday, the 37-year-old former champion dismissed doubts about his age and time away from the ring, declaring, “No doubt in my mind, I can reach the top again.”
Fury’s confidence comes despite the current dominance of Oleksandr Usyk, who has defeated him twice and sits atop the heavyweight division. Fury remains undeterred, maintaining that he believes he won both bouts and promising to “overthrow” whoever holds the crown when he returns. Training clips circulating online suggest the Briton is serious about putting those words into action.
Reflecting on his resume, Tyson Fury pointed to past victories over elite punchers as proof that power does not faze him. Without naming names, he referenced having beaten “the biggest puncher in history” and two top-10 heavyweights, which is probably about his trilogy with Deontay Wilder and his 2015 title-winning performance against Wladimir Klitschko. “Power don’t mean shit to me,” Fury said bluntly.
The identity of Fury’s comeback opponent remains unclear. A long-discussed all-British showdown with Anthony Joshua has resurfaced repeatedly over the years, but recent circumstances may delay Joshua’s return following a serious car accident and personal tragedy. For now, Fury is focused less on names and more on mindset.
*“I refuse to go down,” Fury proclaimed. “No quit in me.”
