Tyson Fury has again thrown the boxing world into a guessing game, claiming on social media that a third fight with Oleksandr Usyk is booked for Wembley Stadium on 18 April 2026. The boast came less than 24 hours after “The Gypsy King” gave contradictory answers at an IBA event in Turkey - first insisting he was retired, then teasing a comeback.
Reality check: sources close to Team Fury tell that no negotiations have begun, no deal exists, and Wembley is already unavailable on the touted date. In short, there is neither pen on paper nor venue on hold.
Fury, 36, has a history of retreating and re-emerging whenever leverage is needed. This latest gambit coincides with overtures from IBA president Umar Kremlev, whose ambition to muscle into pro boxing could offer Fury a lucrative platform - if the numbers add up.
Usyk, for his part, isn’t biting. The Ukrainian is laser-focused on an eight-day-away rematch with Daniel Dubois and has remained silent on Fury’s public overtures and until belts, calendars and contracts align, talk of Usyk-Fury III remains just that: talk.
