Fresh off his career-best win, Lester Martinez has options, but not all options are equal. The Guatemalan secured the interim WBC super middleweight title with a clear decision over Immanuwel Aleem, and now finds himself right where he wanted to be: in position and with the division watching.

And if you listen closely, there’s really only one fight that matters.

The obvious one is a rematch with Christian Mbilli. Their first meeting was one of the best fights of last year, a back-and-forth war that ended in a split draw and left unfinished business behind. Now, with Mbilli holding the full WBC title and Martinez the interim, the stakes are clear.

If that fight doesn’t materialize immediately, the winner of Armando Resendiz vs. Jaime Munguia is right there. Both bring pressure, both bring volume, and both would turn it into the kind of fight Martinez seems to thrive in. “These are the kinds of fights I’ve always dreamed about,” Resendiz said recently - and that energy fits exactly with where Martinez is heading.

There are also emerging threats like Osleys Iglesias, who could soon hold a version of a world title, and stylistic challenges like Diego Pacheco or Bektemir Melikuziev. Good fights, dangerous fights, but which one will Martinez eventually choose?
