The much-anticipated rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury on December 21 in Riyadh now has a confirmed undercard by Turki Alalshikh. Usyk, who became the undisputed heavyweight champion after defeating Fury by split decision in May, is set for his second clash with the Gypsy King. Although Usyk has since relinquished the IBF title, now held by Daniel Dubois after knocking out Anthony Joshua, he remains the division’s top fighter as well as our P4P number 1.
The undercard is packed with some really good matchups, starting with a super-welterweight bout between Serhii Bohachuk and Israil Madrimov. While both fighters are coming off losses, their styles are expected to produce fireworks. Bohachuk, who dropped Vergil Ortiz Jr. twice in August before losing a majority decision, faces Madrimov, who gave Terence Crawford a tough challenge in his 154-pound debut.
In a Brit-heavy lineup, Isaac Lowe will take on Lee McGregor. McGregor, once seen as a rising star, is looking to bounce back after a 2023 loss to Erik Robles. Meanwhile, Lowe impressed fans with his victory over Hasibullah Ahmadi on the first Fury-Usyk undercard.
Peter McGrail, fresh off a knockout win against Brad Foster, will face European champion Dennis McCann. McGrail called for this fight, and his wish has been granted.
Heavyweight prospect Moses Itauma steps up in class to face Demsey McKean, a UK-based Australian who hasn’t fought since being knocked out by Filip Hrgovic over a year ago. Itauma is widely regarded as a future star in the division and will look to prove himself against McKean.
Rounding out the card, UK fan favorite Dave Allen will battle “Bosh Army” leader Johnny Fisher, an undefeated power-punching heavyweight with a growing following.
What do you think boxing fans? Are these fights good enough for you to watch the full event or you’ve expected it to be better?
